Linux with Dell?

21 04 2007

Michael Dell Looks Different in a Tux
So apparently Dell is now going to be selling computers running Linux. Why?

  1. People are cheap
  2. People HATE windows for some reason
  3. They can’t afford a Mac
  4. They just want to stick it up to the man…Well…The computer man.

I personally don’t like Linux, mainly because a lot of the distributions look really crappy. However, Linspire looks okay. And luckily, it also very compatible and comes with a ton of great stuff to get you started. But don’t get me wrong, my next computer will still be a mac…With Bootcamp for Vista.

I would say my favourite out of those would be the Inspector Gadget mix, mainly because Inspector Gadget is (pardon my language) KICK ASS!

Flash Music Games

16 04 2007

Just ran across these 2 really neat browser games that involve making music. You can find them here. The first game, Virtual Drumset, is exactly that, a full drum kit on your computer screen which can make all of the noises that a drum kit makes very well. The only problem is that there is a slight delay between when you press the button and when it plays the beat. The second game, Sound Mixer, replicates a mixing board and has several elements you can stream. There are a variety of loops including bass loops, drum loops, and two sets of synthesizer loops. Most of these loops are very high quality and are usually on beat, however, it’s fun to try and figure out which loops to use with which.

Servers

Geek Horror Story
Thinking if I should take the time to get a full website…Like “mosenmori.com”. Also, I’m wondering where I would get my hosting. I’m saying to go with GoDaddy or 1and1 for awhile until I feel I should get a better one. I think I’d probably do what Chris24 did and use the Grid Server from Media Temple. It’s $20 a month and I easily make that off of my shows. And yes I do realize that the toon doesn’t go with the post exactly, but it still was pretty funny.

Browser Games…

14 04 2007

Browser games are basically simple games designed to run on a cheap computer, be quick to get in to, be fairly enjoyable, and make a great time waster for when you’re really bored.

  • Maddness Interactive: Based of of Krinkel’s animated series distributed over the internet, take part in some awesome fights using a variety of weapons
  • Stick RPG Complete: A great role playing game with tons of minigames, it really hits the spot for RPG fans and just general browser gamers.
  • Fishy: Simple, fun, and it never gets old, just what you want in a browser game.

Just a few of them, look for more of my favourites in future posts. By the way, I had to restrain myself from playing them so I could work on this post…

Halo 3 Beta Confirmed

13 04 2007

Yes! The Halo 3 Beta has been confirmed for a release on May 16th at 5 AM. Now, personally I was hoping to get the Beta a little bit sooner, but frankly, it’s only about one month away, so I think I can wait. Hope you were lucky enough to get in, or buy Crackdown (which on it’s own is still a great game). The press release from Microsoft is right here; and I hope Microsoft isn’t having late April fools day!

Note: Also, if anyone is wanting to see what the whole HUD and new system looks like, Team Xbox has some screenshots right here.

New Mac Ads!

Just a quick post to make sure everybody knows! To the left is an image of the ad put on several websites within a few MINUTES of the ads being released.

And if anyone wants the .psd then you can fine it here. Feel free to modfiy it in any way you like, but give me credit for the base.

While they aren’t all that great, it was actually really fun trying to make them-even if it didn’t take that long.
